I'm supposed to use the word in parenthesis, either the past form of it or the imperfect for of it to complete the sentence. Did I do this one right?

(ir) Ayer, mi familia y yo ___fuimos___ a comer a un restaurante cubano. Antes, cuando yo era chico, a mi familia y yo siempre __fuimos__ a comer a la casa de mi abuela.

Also, how would I do this one?

(levantarse) Ayer, mi hermano y yo _____ temprano. Antes, cuando eramos chicos, mi hermano y yo siempre _____ tarde.

  1. First one

Ayer , mi familia y yo fuimos a comer a un restaurante cubano. Antes, cuando yo era chico, mi familia y yo ÍBAMOS a comer a la casa de mi abuela.

    Second one

Ayer, mi hermano y yo NOS LEVANTAMOS temprano. Antes, cuando éramos chicos, mi hermano y yo siempre NOS LEVANTÁBAMOS tarde.

    Hope it helps :)

  2. For the first part, everything is right except for the last "fuimos". It should be "íbamos", since you're using "cuando", and that has no definite end to it.

For the second one, you should do this:

Ayer, mi hermano y yo nos levantamos (it's the same in past and present tense) temprano. Antes, cuando eramos chicos, mi hermano y yo siempre nos levantábamos tarde.

  3. (ir) Ayer, mi familia y yo  FUIMOS a comer a un restaurante cubano. Antes, cuando yo era chico, a mi familia y yo siempre IBAMOS  a comer a la casa de mi abuela.

Also, how would I do this one?

(levantarse) Ayer, mi hermano y yo NOS LEVANTAMOS temprano. Antes, cuando eramos chicos, mi hermano y yo siempre DESPERTABAMOS  tarde.

  4. you're good for the first one.

the second one would be 1. nos levantamos

    2. nos levantabamos(accento on the second a)

  5. The second is incorrect. You need to use the imperfect because it was a habitual action that occurred in the past (as opposed to the first one which is an event that occurred only one).

As for the last example- it is a reflexive verb. Since it talks about you and someone else, you are using the "nosotros" form. The first blank refers to an action that occurs only once, so we would use the past tense- nos levantamos. The second blank is a habitual past action and calls for the imperfect- nos levantabamos.

    Hope this helps.
