  1. Check online for the nearest wildlife rehabilitation center. Contact them and they should be able to either take the baby birds or tell you what to do to help them.

Try this website another user posted. It will help you find a rehabilitation center in your area.

  2. If you have been approaching the nest, you might be keeping the parents from coming as you would be considered a predator.  Also, unless you have watched continually, you may be missing their visits to the nest. Visits might be infrequent and quick so don't look away.  Try watching from afar and watch continually to see if there are adults tending to them.  It is highly unusual for parents to abandon their young and even more unusual for something to have happened to both parents.  ONLY if you are positive no one is tending to the nest you can take the birds to a local wildlife rehab:

Also, birds do not have a highly developed sense of smell and will not abandon their babies due to them being touched by humans..this is not a fact...but in fact...an old wives tale!

  3. What species of bird are we talking about?  Is the nest low enough that you could get a ladder to check out the status of the chicks?  Some parent birds spend many hours gathering food for the young, especially as the babies grow and eat more.  Check after the sun goes down to look for mom or dad.

  4. ring up the rspb up and if there are no parents any were take them inside they will get dehydrated and keep them warm until help comes

  5. Whatever you do don't touch the baby birds or the mother will reject them.  That is a known fact.  So if I were you I would let nature do it's thing.  If the mom is around and she sees you near them she will dive bomb you! The father bird also helps with the babies and he will also attack you so be careful.
