Quick way to get back into shape for volleyball.?

I have not played volleyball in a while but i want to make the team really really bad. Tryouts are in one week. Is that long enough to get back into shape for it and get better. Its 8th grade volleyball so its harder then it was last year and i didn't make it. I played two seasons and know the basics and all. I have an okay over hand serve but i cant always make it over. I'm not strong enough. I am pretty good with getting it over and hitting it strait up for another player to get but i need to work work on my overhand serve. I need to get my legs back into shape for moving and running. We are doing a 13 in 1 which is you have to run 13 time across the gym in one minute and I'm feeling pretty good about it but i need to get into shape. Any quick ways to do it or anything to help me would be awesome. :)) thanks in advance :))

  1. definitally do some suicides/ladders. do more floor excersizes like shuffles across the 10 ft line and do squats to get stronger muscles to stay lower.

    DEFINITALLY practice really volleyball with peppering(dig set spike) with a partner. but for sure practice staying low and doing shuffles

    running never hurt anyone either =]]


  2. Swimming is pretty good exercise but you need to do more than that.(i found that out the hard way) you could try jogging every day and maybe lift some weights or something to build up muscle.
