Quick what is a Good gift for a for a 5 yr old little girl who is in the hospital?

My lil cousin is in the hospital with a horrible stomach virus that has caused her to lose 10 lbs in 3 days and has caused her to have blood in her stool. We are about to leave in an hour to go see her. I just talked to her mama (who is also my best friend) and she told me Alize (the little girl) has already had some visitors and they got her coloring books,colors, barbies, stuffed animals and balloons. I was thinking of a board game or playing cards like Old Maid!! What do you think they are planning on keeping her atleast another week

When i was in the hospital, I was six, i got really excited when my friends brought a dvd player and watched movies with me. Cuz being in a hospital gets pretty boring. Or maybe you can get her a boquet of flowers :). Little kids love flowers.

When my daughter was 4, she was in the hospital and the favorite thing she got were some Polly Pocket toys.

If I were you, I would get her a variety of things. I would leave right now, go to the nearest store such as Wal*Mart, so that you only have to go to one store, buy the things and put them in a cute basket or gift bag. I will list a few ideas of things she may like:

Hand-held video game

Movies

A board game that she could play with someone while remaining in bed

a Card game

Colorful paper and sparkle/neon pens/markers

A plain T-shirt with fabric markers

A Doodle Bear

Cute hair pieces, a mirror, a cute brush, etc.

A few tiny dolls like Polly Pockets

A new doll

Stuffed Animals

A few books

If they are letting her wear her own clothes, some cute PJ's

Playdough and playdough molds,etc.

Some play jewelry or plastic jewelry

A disposable camera, she may like taking pictures of her visitors and a cute photo book

More balloons

etc.

EDIT: A soft fuzzy blanket may be a good choice as well!

A couple of books for her age group, or one of those webkins animal (virtual/ stuffed pets), maybe a build a bear that looks like her, and has a hospital gown on (if they make those).

Yes, board games, hand held video games  or something like that.  Those little pets that you can dress up in different clothes.  Cute PJ's - if they'll let her wear them.  Hair pretties for her hair.  Jewrely making kits - to make like bracelets and necklaces, etc.  Poor little girl!!!  Hope she gets better soon!

there are places that sell cookie bouquets.. idk if she can eat yet though. in which case i'd suggest a movie, coloring things, blank tshirt with t-shirt paint, a stuffed animal- my sister was in an accident (she broke her hip and was in a body cast at age 5) and really loved the stuffed animals.. no matter how many she ended up getting. she'd arrange them on the bed all around her. it was cute! she loved the coloring stuff too. an art kit might be good.

Take some hair frillies and nail polish and old maid cards and just pamper her during your visit, ask her how she is feeling about everything...If you are talking to her like she is at your beauty salon she will tell you more about how she is doing and feeling. Make her feel pretty, and important that is the best gift.
