  1. If you connect you Xbox 360 to your HDTV via Component cables it will play games in 720p or 1080i HD. DVD Movies will only playback in 480p via Component cables.

HD movies down loaded via Xbox Live Video Marketplace will plat back in 720p.

In order to upscale DVD movies to High definition you must connect via HDMI or VGA cable, either cable will allow you to upscale your dvd movies to 720p, 1080i or 1080p HD.

Component (Red,Blue,Green-Video-Red,White-Audio) cables only result in Progressive scan playback at 480p but while allow games to be played in 720p or 1080i.

  2. there is the switch on one of the cables on the back of the xbox change it that is probably your problem

  3. well put the settings back also how are u playing these movies?
