  1. No you dont have too at all if you dont want. I never go to those quick oil changes they dont fully drain the oil and tend to forget to change the oil filter or mess something up since they rush it. It takes 25 min to do a full complete oil change if you do it correctly.

  2. if you want but its not manditory

  3. no.  i used to manage one of them, and never once did we not do the job that we said we would do.  we also did do full oil drains, BUT i still don't get my oil changed there.  it costs too much and while they don't cheat on your filter, they do use the cheapest filter they can find as well as the cheapest oil their contracts will allow.  additionally, the guys make 8-11 per hour, not exactly mechanic wages, so you aren't exactly getting 'crem de la crem' working on your car.  a mechanics shop will usually charge about the same, use better oil and filter and have an ASE professional do the work.

personally i change my own oil though.

  4. They are already ripping you off, i don't think you need to leave any tip unless you come across with a real nice mechanic who actually did work on your car. Usually it is 3 guys doing the job and i don't find any reason to tip all 3 of them plus the guy who pulls your car in and out, plus the guy who vacuums the floor as well as the guy who cleans the window.

  5. NO!!!!!

Don't tip someone for doing a job they are paid for.  They make $15/hr.  That is different from a waitress making $2.15/hr.

Besides that, they likely didn't do all the work you paid them for.  Quick lube places are famous for that.  Don't you ever watch the news?
