The Asian Tour event will be played at the prestigious Sentosa Golf Club, Singapore, featuring some of the prominent names on the Asian Tour.

Talking to the Asian Tour’s official website, he stated that the victory at the Orchard Golf and Country Club strongly reinforced his belief in himself.
Since then, he has been performing consistently well and is confident to keep the momentum going into the Barclays Singapore Open.
“I’ve been playing with more consistency since that win. I think that has helped to instill some confidence in myself and I believe that nothing is impossible. I’m now hoping to bring that with me onto the main tour and play well,” said Quek.
According to the golf analysts, Quek certainly has the potential to perform well in the US$6 million event in Singapore.
During his amateur career, he was regarded as one of the best players from Singapore. He won the Putra Cup individual title in 2007 and team title in 2008. Furthermore, he was the best amateur finisher of the 2007 Barclays Singapore Open.
Therefore, he definitely can provide a tough competition to the big names participating in the event, including the world number one Rory McIlroy.
He also relished the opportunity of playing against the Northern Irishman. Moreover, he also stated that his family will be present on the course to support him in the event.
“A tournament of this size and calibre definitely attracts very good players. It’s a bonus to be able to play in the same field as the world’s best and of course the world number one”.
“I’ve got my family and friends supporting me this week you and hopefully I’ll be the last one to putt from the 18th hole on Sunday,” smiled Quek.
