  1. this might be used when picking more than two horses in one race.  :)

  2. there is no such animal........for example when you choose 1and 8 as your horses and you place a wager on a quinella.it doesn't matter what way it comes 18or81.the cost is one wager or $2.00. unlike an exacta box of 1 and 8. The cost $4.00

  3. quinella box is a automatic reverse bet.

if you say give me a $2.00 quinella box+  4/5

even if it comes 5/4 you are the winner, you can play a 3 horse quinella box for $6.00 and so on.

  4. As you probably already know, a quinella is a single bet on two horses that must come in 1st and 2nd in either order; For example, a $2 quinella on #'s  1-2.  You win if they come in 1-2

or 2-1. There's no point in saying "Quinella box for 1-2", because a quinella is already boxed.

However, if you choose more than two horses to come in 1st and 2nd, then you can say,"$2 quinella box on #'s 1-2 and 3".

You will win if the first two horses over the finish are:1-2, 2-1,

3-1,2-3.....there are six combinations; your bet is $2 X 6=$12. More horses boxed in the quinella, more combinations, more money wagered.

Suggestion: If you want to save money, with the same combinations, instead of betting quinellas, do a $1 exacta

box. Example; $1 exacta box on 1-2 and 3 = same six combinations for a $6 wager. Of course your winnings will be about 1/2 of the quinella bet. You could also do a $2 exacta

box for 3 horses= $12 wager. The payoff will be APPROXIMATELY the same as a $2 quinella box for three horses.

I believe the minimum bet for a quinella is $2.
