Quinn Direct insurance?

Iv just got ensured with Quinn direct in Ireland online! i gave my direct debit details and picked today as a start date, however i have to send them my deposit by cheque as i have no credit card!

Am i actually insured now or do i have to wait until the cheque is received! I have a policy ref number but there is no mention of a policy number!

please help cheers

  1. Usually they will be OK with that (the earlier you start the quicker the policy expires and the faster they can charge you again (a higher rate)).

    However if you have an accident, just see how fast that changes ...

    If you need the Policy Doc. you will have to wait for then to send it (they MIGHT wait for your cheque to clear .. however since they have your DD details, I doubt it).


  2. As a general rule most insurance policies require the payment of the premium (or at least a deposit) in order to become effective. I would suggest your insurance will not be effective until they receive your payment. This points out the perils in purchasing insurance online hopefully they have a toll free number you can call to verify the above.
