Quintin Berry looking to grab opportunity with both hands – MLB Detroit Tigers News

Rookie Quintin Berry is an extremely talented individual. Since making his debut with the Detroit Tigers, Berry has played a key role in many Tigers’ victories. The outfielder has the ability to deliver the goods in pressure situations. Perhaps, this is
why he finds himself in one of the biggest clubs in Major League Baseball at such a young and exciting age.
Berry can play both left field and right field. His contract was purchased on May 23, 2012 but he has already showing signs of maturity.
Tigers made it to the World Series finals on Thursday at Comerica Park and Berry celebrated his dream filled season while wearing a big smile on his face. Berry made a big impression during Tigers’ training sessions on Saturday. Showing great composure,
the 27-year-old had three consecutive hits against Justin Verlander, Doug Fister and Al Alburquerque.
"Three-for-three," Berry playfully gloated to Fister afterward. "Triple off Doug, double off Ver, single off Alburquerque.”
He added, "None of those balls were caught, so I'm going in (the clubhouse) and let everybody know that they'd better be glad I'm on their team.”
After playing in the Tigers’ Minor League system for a considerable period of time, Berry is making the most of available opportunities. He was called up by the Tigers following Austin Jackson’s injury in May. Finding his role as a base stealer, he is shown
the World that he is capable of hitting home-runs against both left and right handed pitching.
"This has been amazing," Berry said in a post game interview. "I never would have thought I would be going to the World Series — let alone be in the big leagues — so this is a dream come true. I'm having a blast."
Berry finished the season with a decent .258 batting average. Hitting two home-runs with 29 RBI’s and 21-for-21 steal attempts, the outfielder Berry will be very pleased with what he has been able to achieve in his rookie year in the Majors. It will be interesting
to see if he can continue the good work to cement his place on the big league roster.
The Tigers are waiting to see if they will be facing San Francisco Giants or the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series finals.
