Quinton Jackson bounces on Jon Jones yet again – UFC News
Former UFC light heavyweight titlist Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has once again hit current champion Jon Jones with a streak of verbal assaults. Following Jon Jones’ recent victory over Vitor Belfort, Jackson claims that the light heavyweight titlist is a
fake.
“He's fake,” said Jackson. “I don't agree with his fighting style. I think I could beat Jon Jones. I know I can beat him. Jon Jones is the type of guy you have to fight twice.”
Jackson’s comments came in following Jones’ recent fight against Belfort. According to Jackson, Jones repeatedly hits his opponents knee backwards, which can injure them for life.
“you can mess people up for life kicking their knee back like that and he does it repeatedly, over and over. To me that has no honor. I take a lot of honor in fighting. He has no honor,” he added.
When asked about his future in the sport, Jackson replied, “Me being a free agent is looking very promising right now. I'm not in a rush."
Jones defeated Belfort via unanimous decision past Saturday at UFC 152. Belfort proved to be Jones’ toughest competitor to date. He locked the champion in an armbar submission earlier in the first round. However, Jones did not submit, even though he felt
like his arm was about to break. Jones spoke of the submission in the post-fight conference, saying that he was waiting for his arm to break but he would not have submitted.
On the other hand, Belfort revealed that he initially thought he would defeat Jones but then he realised the champion is tougher than he expected.
Jones, who was under fire following UFC 151’s cancellation, regained his respect after defeating Belfort. The fight was epic. Even president of the UFC Dana White was pleased with Jones’ performance.
During the post-fight conference, White asserted that Jones’ performance against Belfort was the best of his career. He added that nobody can deny the fact that Jones indeed is among the best fighters in the world.
Nevertheless, it seems like not many fighters are yet impressed with Jones and they are having a hard time accepting his supremacy. Of course, Quinton Jackson stands as the main one in the list.
