Quinton Jackson decides to adios UFC but will brawl Mauricio Rua before leaving - UFC News
It seems that Quinton Jackson’s recent disgruntled thoughts have rattled the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) management since according to recent tidings, UFC President Dana White announced that the former light heavyweight champion will take on Mauricio
Rua in a non-title bout and after that he is allowed to adios the promotion.
The shocking announcement came almost a day after Quinton bashed UFC for exhibiting a non-serious attitude towards him, an attitude that has tarnished his career. Quinton, 33, has fought in many promotions but reached at the pinnacle of his career in Japan
while fighting for Pride FC.
Quinton kicked off his UFC career in 2007 and enjoyed fighting with dominating fighters such as Dan Henderson, Chuck Liddell, Keith Jardine and others. But his performance started to diminish recently as he lost the requisite motivation to put up a great
show because of several reasons, one being unworthy opponents.
The 204-pounder has been in a total 42 mixed martial art skirmishes and came out victorious in 32. He has won many titles and honours in his career and has nailed men who still are considered as legends in UFC roster. Despite the hefty intimidating resume,
Quinton got irked by UFC’s ignorant behaviour.
Quinton said that he has not been taken care of properly adding that he is a product that can not only bring revenues to the promotion but the fan base as well. The veteran heavyweight said that he is disappointed in the way Joe Silva, UFC bout-maker, selects
his opponent’s names.
Quinton continued saying that he does not care about money and is even ready to brawl for mere five dollars provided he is given due respect. Jackson revealed that this was the same reason why he left Pride FC in the first place.
Quinton, while lashing on the UFC said that the whole purpose he did not back off from Japan pay-per-view was his urge and passion but UFC had something else in their mind. Jackson, the only man who unified Pride FC and UFC’s middleweight titles, revealed
that UFC made him a part of UFC 144 because they knew it would increase the events worth manifold.
Jackson said that he is so much heartfelt at the scenario that he openly offers UFC to release him and rescind his contract, if he is of no appeal at all. UFC management finally broke their silence and Dana White recently proclaimed that Quinton can leave
the promotion after he brawls Mauricio Rua.
The date and venue of the bout are still to be decided but at the moment the bout is being dubbed as a 2005 Pride FC rematch, a bout in which Rua nailed Quinton via submission. It must be noted that Quinton has almost finalised his contract with Pride FC
and will enter their coliseum on May 25, 2012.
