Quinton Jackson gives tips to Frankie Edgar ahead of bout with Ben Henderson – UFC News
Frankie Edgar, the 30-year old American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter is set to meet compatriot MMA fighter Benson Henderson. Their bout is set for the UFC 144, produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which will
be held on February 26, 2012. Edgar has been on a great run in his MMA career with six straight wins from July 2008 to October 2011. Edgar will meet Henderson, the 28-year old Henderson. Edgar is being advised by Quinton Jackson ahead of his bout with Henderson.
The 33-year old Jackson, nicknamed Rampage, is the former UFC light heavyweight champion. He has also been the Pride Middleweight Champion when he won the title in October 2004 against Wanderlei Silva at Pride 28, produced by the
Pride Fighting Championship. Jackson have been giving some useful tips to Edgar ahead of his bout at UFC 144 in Japan. Jackson himself is on the main card of the event. He is in the lightweight bout against Ryan Bader.
Both the fighters, Edgar and Henderson are enthusiastic for their brawl at UFC 144. They would be looking forward for a win in Japan when the UFC 144 will be held at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. For Edgar, this would
be one of his biggest fights of his careers. Headlining UFC 144 means something which both Edgar and Henderson would have thought for a long time in their careers.
Their respective careers have been filled with numerous fights but the event in Japan would be a bit different. Japan is known as the place where martial arts for born, therefore, for the two fighters it would be a great chance
to display their skills where the combat sports have its roots. Although the Japanese fans have their own versions of martial arts, they are fans of the UFC as much as they are fans of their own combat sports.
According to Jackson, the Japanese maybe quite in their verbal tones, they do love action packed fights. He also pointed out that Edgar should use the UFC octagon to give the Japanese fans what they want, an exciting slugfest that
will keep them on their feet throughout the fight. Jackson said, "The only advice I would give him is here it's a big show, and the fans are really respectful. You put on the best show you can. But he's the champion, and when you're a champion, there's a
lot riding on that fight.”
