Question:

Quite random but I want to know... this is about soup.?

So right now I'm eating Campbell's soup, specifically the Cars noodle kind, because it was the only soup left in my cabinet and I wanted some soup. So anyway I'm eating it now and it's just disgusting. Usually Campbell's has that overloaded-with-flavor type of taste but this has zero taste and it looks like a lot more oil. the noodles are gross too. A lot less chicken (which means zero for Campbell's pretty much). This soup is nasty.

Point: The "adult" flavors of soup taste better to me. the "kids" flavors seem ripped off, like they don't care if it's good, because they're only kids. Is it only me? All in my head? Has anyone else noticed the difference in flavor or lack thereof? As is said above this is random, and probably not worth losing 5 points over when I could just ask at class tomorrow, but I'm too impatient and I need to distract myself from doing homework....

Sooo, any thoughts about this oh-so-important thought of mine?

  1. You are right. Most of Campbell's main soup line is pretty bland, tasteless, and cheap. I only use the ones that I use for casseroles. (cream of chicken, mushroom, etc) What it comes down to is not concern on their part--but sales. If people quit buying it over lack of taste and quality, then they have to change it. But it has been flying off the shelves for a long time now, so the consumer overall doesn't seem to mind.
