  1. This is a difficult question to answer - or rather, it's easy to answer, but it will not be satisfying for you as I guess you want a clear cut solution.

I've worked with a number of clients with the same problem (and myself) and the truth is that there are a number of factors which have to be present for the actual quitting to be successful (without relapse or terrible abstinence symptoms which make you start again, etc.).

Consciously you may be very ready to stop and quite motivated, but if your subconscious doesn't agree (for whatever unreasonable reason), you will not succeed.

In kinesiology we can actually test for the percentage of likely success and work to increase that percentage. We don't even try to help the person with a percentage under 80.

If you haven't tried hypnosis, I'd suggest you find a GOOD hypnotherapist in your city or area. Ask around. Try to find someone who's gotten help for the same problem. Not all hypnotherapists are reliable and the grapevine is your best bet when it comes to finding a good one, otherwise this will fail too.

Wishing you all the best! You will succeed!

  2. - Acupuncture was shown to help a woman quit smoking on the BBC Documentary -Alternative Medicine - Acupuncture aired in 2006, available on p2p networks/torrent sites.

    - Also if your from the UK the NHS is doing a huge campaign to help people quit smoking, see a non-smkoing advisor, ask your Doctor to refer you, their are a range of options for treatment.

    - Hypnosis is also said to work, athough not an exact science, and can be expensive.

    Hope this helps.
