"until they become conscious they will never rebel, and until after they have rebelled they cannot become conscious." George Orwell 1984. Can someone please explain that to me?

  1. It means that unless you wake up and look around, you'll never be able to stand up for what you believe in , but while you are rebelling you won't look around you and accept the world as it is. At least that's what means to me :)


  2. people are held in their present sorry state by inertia.
