Quote for a concrete job

Question

Hi, I have a 500 square feet concrete job. What should be the reasonable quote for this job? I called one of the local contractors and he quoted $9-$10 per square feet. I think it is quite high. Before I call the others I just want to know the ballpark figure. I'm in Brooklyn, NY. Thanks.

It is the same out here in Chicago. If you do happen to find it for a price less that that, you're going to be compromising quality and concrete is definitely something that you don't want to compromise.

For your area, $9-10/sq. ft is reasonable.  Consider the costs of labor and materials in NYC, and you can see the price difference compared to other areas.
