Not any off the top of my head, but.....

Could it be that "everyone else" sees you as someone worthy of more than they perceive you getting from this boyfriend?  It could be that they feel your self-esteem isn't what it should be.

As a teen I went through something similar with a particular boyfriend and my parents.
