What does Allah mean by "read?"

'Alaq {96:1}

"Read in the name of your Lord Who created."

'Alaqa {96:3}

"Read and your Lord is Most Honorable"

  1. This is my 'favorite' verse in the Quran. I was taught that its a variation on learning and gaining education for the sake of Allah(Swt)


  2. this is the first lesson gave by god to the prophet and his believers that to acquire education. as prophet was illiterate at the time of prophecy. so it was the first lesson from God that to read and acquire education of any type.  

  3. First of all read the book of allah.

    it can solve all your questions regarding how to be submitted to God.

    second without reading you cannot get knowledge.without knowledge human being is same as animal.

    Reading is not only book, reading nature other creatures universe so that you think the unlimit of god. You understand the creator etc.
