R.A Dickey issue soon to be resolved by New York Mets as possibility of his trade increases-MLB
As per the industry source, New York Mets are on the cusp of finalising the trade of R.A Dickey.
They are involved in serious talks with the Toronto Blue Jays. As soon as the Blue Jays agree to send their top prospects to the Mets, the announcement by the team can be made.
Apart from Toronto, the Texas Rangers are also eager to acquire Dickey from the Mets. It remains to be seen as to how pleased Dickey will be in case he joins one of these two organisations.
Time-and-again, Dickey has spoken about his desire to play for the Mets. His agent is engaged in negotiations with the team’s top brass.
Unfortunately, the financial limitations of the Mets have discouraged them to offer Dickey the new agreement as per his wishes.
Dickey, though realises the constraints of the organisation, has not spared their officials from being heavily criticised by him for failing to finish the negotiations process expeditiously.
The other day Dickey, while in a ceremony held at Citi Field, expressed his disapproval of the way the club was handling the whole matter.
The sources report, the Mets’ top management is unhappy with Dickey for expressing his complaints publicly.
Although they have not officially claimed their dissent, their actions in the next couple of days can speak louder than words.
For example, they can totally discard the possibility they are going to re-sign Dickey, as a tacit revelation of their anger against him.
If the industry reports are to be believed, it is not hard to understand the Mets are about to get rid of Dickey through a trade.
However, until some official claims surface, nothing can be said with certainty.
Only thing one can be sure of is the fact that the Mets are going to declare something drastic regarding Dickey within a next few days.
The fans can start bracing for the reality, which may see them without their 2012 Cy Young Award winner during the 2013 Major League season.
All-in-all, they will be looking to hope for the best and want their team to perform, regardless of whether Dickey stays or not.
