R. M. V. Gurusaidutt tames Po Wei Cheng in Men’s Singles second round at Kumpoo Macau Open
India’s elite player R. M. V. Gurusaidutt put up a spectacular show of top class badminton in Men’s Singles second round when he registered his mark over Chinese Taipei’s Po Wei Cheng at the Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Wednesday,
November 28, in Macau.
The aggressive Gurusaidutt, who has been positioned at number 12 in Men’s Singles seeding in the championship, showed his aggressive play in the arena and easily sent Po Wei packing by taking just 30 minutes on court.
Indian player was in complete control of the game and did not let his challenger to fight back in the match at any stage. He easily grabbed victory in this second round encounter with a crushing margin in straight games.
In the meanwhile, the lower ranked Po Wei could not cope up with the speed and perfect placement of his Indian challenger and eventually went down against him in a lopsided fashion without even getting close on the board.
Gurusaidutt showed an amazing aggression in his play in front of local crowd from the starting rallies of first set by building a huge pressure on his rival.
The speed of rallies was incredibly fast in starting set and Gurusaidutt maintained his upper hand without facing any trouble from his Taipei challenger.
Indian player progressed with a wonderful speed in the first part and took a stunning lead until the end of opening half.
After the break, the higher ranked Gurusaidutt remained confident in the arena by playing at the same speed and stretched the gap on score board.
Gurusaidutt continued his smooth sailing without facing considerable problem from his Taipei opponent and won the first game with a controlled margin of 21-10.
In the second game, Po Wei was again in problem as he could not cope up with the variations of his rival and again remained struggling far behind until the end of first half.
After the interval, Gurusaidutt continued putting up entertaining show of attacking badminton and he easily wrapped up second set with a margin of 21-14.
Indian shuttler did not face any considerable problem in winning this second round clash in a lopsided fashion with a 21-10 and 21-14 margin on the board.
