Mine would have to be KEXP 90.3 FM in Seattle. I think it might actually be the best station in the country, in fact it WAS voted as one of the best. I think its awesome because they play EVERYTHING. You name it, a lot of it is underground Rock, Hip Hop, and Country, and a lot of it is local. But they also play lesser known classic rock, world music, jazz, etc.... seriously you name and they have at least played it once.

What about you?

MQ: Name a band they played on that station?

  1. Q101 (WKQX), Chicago's Alternative.

They play a lot of 90's alternative: Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Tool, Sublime, Nine Inch Nails, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, etc.

They have a local / new music program too, which I love. I found tons of great bands from it.

  2. 104.9 da beat hip hop and r&b

  3. 100.3 The Bear Edmonton

Plays most popular rock from the 70's to now

MQ: One of the few stations I've heard that play's Metal as well as rock. Ex: Children Of Bodom

  4. I live in Seattle, and that is definitely not the best station. Seattle has the worst stations possible. 99.9 is the closest you will get to metal, and all they do is play AC/DC over and over again.

  5. 95.5 KLOS Classic Rock and 106.7 KROQ they play a mix between Metallica, RHCP, The Cure etc

  6. WZLX Boston. They play all classic rock, plus they have "Nights with Alice Cooper" which is entertaining haha

  7. If I listen to the radio, it's generally 106.7 KROQ, the local modern rock station in L.A.  I wish they played a wider variety of music, but of all the local stations I've heard, I like them the best.

  8. 93.3 WMMR

  9. wixv 95.5 ''the rock of savannah''

they have mandatory metallica and they are currently playing zeps 40th anniversary

  10. eagle 107.5

    classic rock, led zeppelin

    and kool 105.5

plays a lot of sixties stuff, beatles

  11. KRXQ 98.5 Rock FM in Sacramento (NorCal, h**l yeah!)...Rock and Metal....MQ: Metallica

  12. my little town in michigan occasionally can get q101 from chicago. it's awesome; all alternative rock.

    mq: avenged sevenfold

  13. There's 88.1 WYCE. It's an all volunteer station with the on air people picking the playlist. I like it when they get tribal, it's where my ears were opened to one of my favorites, Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

Then there is 96.9, or as they call themselves, 97 WLAV. Roots firmly planted in classic rock. This month is Zeptember, a whole month of Led Zeppelin. Other radio stations in this area wish they could grow up to be LAV. It's where you go for your daily dose of comfort rock : )

  14. 101.1 plays mostly classic rock. (Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin)

99.3 plays rock and sometimes metal. (Alice In Chains, Tool)

  15. In Pittsburgh, the station is 102.5 WDVE. They play classic rock.

MQ: Any Classic Rock Band basically, but I will have to say Pink Floyd.

  16. WHUS 91.7 FM which is the station run by the University of Connecticut.  They have a pretty diverse program schedule including some talk radio.

  17. 92 KQRS in Minnesota... they play classic rock, '80s rock, and newer songs by classic rock artists (Scare Easy by Mudcrutch, for example)... But they play deep cuts quite often, and it's practically my iPod on steroids... :)

MQ: They seem to play Van Halen a lot...

  18. 93.7 "The Arrow"

My favorite station would've been 94.5 ("The Buzz") because they're the only ones that play grunge. The Buzz's only con is that they also play alot of Nickelback. 93.7 is the classic rock station around here, they've got a wide varitey of bands.

MQ: Aerosmith (they play lots of Aerosmith)

  19. X96 in SLC, Utah.

MQ:Nirvana, Korn, RHCP, Jane's Addiction, Tool etc..

  20. Q100 or star94 in georgia is where they play all the hits. They're awesome! : )

    they play everything

  21. 101 KUFO.

    MQ: Tool.
