K so i've seen many questions like in the future "Who are gonna be the next "classic's'', and i thought about it why dont people just make up a new name for the "new" music that one day will be "old Music" like "middle aged music" or "00's Music" , because the "classic's are already "Classic's" ?? right?.

( if any of what i just sayed makes any sence)

MQ: What would you call it??

  1. I'm racking my mind here, and I can't find anything...

Probably, there won't be one umbrella term for this era because so much exists...

MQ2: Bringin' On the Heartbreak by Def Leppard

  2. I think for sure the Garage Rock bands, like The Vines, The Hives, The White Stripes, and The Strokes.

I would want Weezer and Foo Fighters to be considered classics.

Oh Yeah! Nirvana is definitely going to be a classic band, if they aren't already.

If Beastie Boys is considered Rap-Rock, then they will be a classic band. Same thing goes for rage Against the Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

    MA1: No Idea. New Classics?

MA2: Rhyming and Stealing by Beastie Boys.

  3. Good point.

    MQ:The 00's.

MQ2:I'm listening to The Larger Bowl by Rush.

  4. There aren't many very recent bands, like scene bands and certainly not Disney pop, which will go down as legendary classics.

Nirvana are the paramount band going down as classic of these times.

I also think these bands will eventually get labelled classics, as well:

    foo fighters

    red hot chilli peppers

    weezer

    the white stripes

    EDIT -

MQ 2 - Scentless apprentice, nirvana

  5. i have a feeling the Foo Fighters would be considered "classics" in the future

MQ- uhm...i guess the "new classics"

    MQ2- "Lone" by Beltaine

  6. Mq: maybe 2nd generation classics

Mq2:i dont wanna stop ozzy osbourne

  7. I was thinking about this a couple of days ago and I'm frightened that the music today is going to be referred to as classics.

    MQ: ----

    MQ2: Jackson 5- Dancing Machine

  8. bands or solo artists that will be considered classic by SOME in 20 years:

    britney spears

    justin timberlake

    coldplay

    foo fighters

    no doubt

    linkin park

the white stripes & and anything else associated with Jack White

timberland (mostly just as a producer)

    weezer

MQ: i guess it would be called old music by some kids in 20 years. i dont think there will be an official name for the 2000 - 2010 music. maybe the new millenium songs. but it definetly will NOT be called classics. i will die a little inside if today's music is classic

MQ2: Keep Me Hanging On - The Supremes
