R&b or rock song.?

i am auditioning for rent and they want us to sing a r&b or rock song.

what would a good song be??

i am a girl. i like to belt a lot of my singing.

Kudos to you for the effort. While there are some "ballads" in the show, so much is in a Retro Rock style, you might choose anything from the era portrayed in the production, NOT a song from the production.

It might also depend, in some measure, on the part you want.
