  1. Send them to Mandela for his charity.

  2. Everybody takes them along and you are meant to. Those that are left behind may not be used again anyway. There would be an outcry if people learned that the socks offered on an aeroplane have been used before. They simply can not take the risk of being sued by someone claiming to have picked up a fungal infection from the socks supplied. I have a few myself. I quite like them. They have served me very well through cold, snowy Winters. The nice thing about them is their stretch ability. My husband has much bigger feet than I have, but that has not stopped him from slipping them on in Winter either.

(What happened to your joke post...I kept tanking myself and suddenly it was gone)

  3. Of course you can take them, they are complimentary and the airlines factor in their price in the price of a plane ticket.

    Personally I love airline socks!!!!

  4. Just don't take the pillow and blanket they give you for the night.  One of our national team players (small sport - not going to give it away) took the pillow and was arrested for that in Europe.

  5. Yes, you can take them. They are also useful for cleaning silver.

  6. From hygienic point of view, they avoid recycling them. So, yes we suppose to take them.

BTW: If Alf's suggestion is as plain as it is on the board - it's a good suggestion. However, the Mandela Charities don't deal with collection of clothes but money and books. So, maybe you should find a charity in your area that collect clothing and give that to them.

  7. Als, you can take them all. Not only are they quite useful when you are in the plane but use them even at home. I love to wear them in the house when I do not feel like having my slippers and more so, they keep your feet quite warm as well especially in winter.

  8. Not at all.  You can take pretty much anything they give you.  Besides, what do you think they do with the socks people don't take?  Trash 'em.  So free socks = awesome.

  9. They are listed as our property since we paid for the flight, which I might add are extremely expensive!

That is what the socks are there for, to take. I am sure that the airline will not be needing hundreds of used socks! Therefore, they'd probably just go to waste. So really you are doing them a favour! Plus the socks come in handy as Blue Bull explained!
