  1. Advantages: Single room, experience that will look great on a resume, rewarding feeling that comes from helping others, making friends with people on staff

Disadvantages: It can be hard to separate yourself from the job, especially when you're in your own building/floor. Negative confrontations.

  2. a single room, advantage

  3. Pros:  At the college I attended, the RAs received free housing on campus and a single room (if they were RAs in the dorm-style housing - those who were RAs in on-campus apartments still had to share the apartment and possibly a bedroom).  But this may be different depending on the school.

Cons:  Not being able to go out all the time at nights or weekends if you're on call.  Being able to enforce rules and possibly have people hate you for getting them in trouble for reporting them for breaking the rules.

  4. Advantage: free room and board.

Disadvantage: you actually have to live there and usually only upperclassmen get the jobs.
