RABBITs!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Question

Im getting a Dutch rabbit for breeding soon and I need some awnsers for her. here are the questions...... do they have a good tempermant? what are the age groups you suggest for dutch? how many babies do they have? are they good mothers? do they do well with other rabbits? Im planning to keep 1 of her rabbits but if they dont get along im going to get her another cage. please add any websites that may help me. thanks in advance!

Yes they have a good tempermant as long as you don't intrude on their babies or do something retarded, as far as i know i've never been bitten by one.

I don't understand what you mean by age groups.

They have about 2-6 kittens.

They are good mothers, they will pull out literally 1/2 their fur to make a bedding for the kittens. they may ignore their kittens sometimes but this is natural. And as upsetting as this is, not all kittens survive and usually this is not the fault of the mother.

I strongly suggest after mating that you isolate them, most of the time they fight but rarely a mate would be comfortably living with it.

I had two dutch rabbits so i will answer your questions as best as i can...

-Yes they have good tempermant as long as you give them lots of cuddles then they will be happy and friendly.

-Age groups-I got my dutch rabbits when one was 6 weeks and the other was 8 weeks old. Rabbits can live upto about 15 years old. I would suggest that you were very careful about letting young children touching the rabbits without strong supervision, because alot of young children tend to go for the rabbits eyes!

-I bred one of my dutch rabbits with my friends rabbit, (as both mine were female.) Rabbits can have between 2-9 babies.

-I bred both my rabbits quite a few times. Each time they looked after their babies extremely well except one of them rejected one of her babies in one litter. We had to bring up that baby ourself by feeding him special formula milk for small animals using a syringe. Also, you have to be VERY careful not to touch their babies until they are looking after themselves. This is because if you touch them then you will leave your scent on them which the mother will sence and then she will end up rejecting her babies.

-Two females get along really well together. Two males will usually fight. But its not just male dutch rabbits that usually fight, it's all breeds. And one male and one female in one cage will just BREED BREED BREED!
