RAM QUESTION. Generally speaking, how will an increase in RAM improve the performance?

I have a 3 year old Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop with 1 GB of RAM now.

I am considering upping this another 1 GB, which will give me a total of 2 GB RAM.

I am wondering if it will make much difference in performance.

Should I do it?

if you plan to keep the pc then yes, upgrading the ram will allow apps to run smoother.

yeah do it itll make your computer process things faster.. youre going to notice the change rite away.. when you turn on your computer it starts a lot faster.

oh yeah

programs run faster and smoother, I have noticed a speed increase with 512mb

a gig will really smooth things out
