explanation:

i think right now argentina (along with spain and germany) are playing the best football in the world. brazil's time has passed. they still have talent (more than the other americas) but a lot of their players (ronaldo, dihno, ze roberto, gilberto silva, dida) are peaking or are simply gone. brazil still looks good (robinho, pato, luis fabiano). but argentina has more talent in my opinion (messi, kun, riquelme, gago). watch slowly brazil will start to fade from WCs.

i also think the USA, Mexico, and Paraguay could all switch places due to their inconsistencies, although mexico has the most talent out of the 3.

Miguel C, you said that USA was worst team in Copa America i agree with that however, you also forget they brought a young squad while Mexico brought a squad to win.The USA didn't bring there best players, had they done that they probably would have gotten a better result.

Based on results from South America W.C. Qualifiers, Copa America, Gold Cup and etc..

Brazil- Copa America winners and not that behind in Qual. Argentina in points

Argentina- Runner's up in Copa America and only a few points ahead of Brazil in Qualifiers



Mexico- Gold Cup Runner ups, Copa America 3rd place

Paraguay- Leaders in Qualifiers

Colombia- Best defense in qualifiers and in the top 5 also

Uruguay- 4th place in Copa America but not so great in qualifiers

USA- Gold Cup winners but worst team of Copa America

The rest: They always have inconsistent results so any of them could switch each others position in rankings and really wouldn't cause that much of a shock except if Guatemala was the best out of these
