RBC Canadian Open: Betting odds – Part 1
RBC Canadian Open is all set to hit the Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club in Vancouver, Canada. The four-day event is the first stop on the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour after the Open Championship. The 7,010-yard long course tests the resilience
of players on the fairways, which are constantly attacked by the winds from the North. The player with a strong short game will have higher chances of leading the leaderboard by the end of the day.
Here is a look at the betting odds for the tournament.
1. Rickie Fowler
The 22-year-old rookie is growing fast, when it comes to the game. Looking at his season start, the American has been improving with time and so is his versatility with the different types of courses. Moreover, he is now known for making an impossible shot
in every tournament.
Take the example of the Masters; where he chipped a shot, while standing on the 12th green. The ball rolled into the cup after bouncing on the bank of the small creek with utmost accuracy, which was nearly impossible.
His latest encounter with risk was the shot that he made on the seventh hole during the final round of the Open Championship. The rookie rolled a 15-foot putt into the gale, with accurate speed and earned himself a huge applause for producing a magnificent
shot.
Moreover, he finished tied in fifth place in an event known as one of the toughest challenges thrown in the season.
2. Matt Kuchar
This American could not make the cut at the Open Championship, but he certainly has a chance on this course. The leader of last year’s FedEx rankings made the cut in 15 of the 16 events in which he competed. The success rate is phenomenal and it proves that
he has the ability to adapt to a new course.
Since Shaughnessy is not that old and has been made on modern lines, therefore, there is a great chance that Kuchar will not only make the cut, but also take a share in the Top 20.
Moreover, looking at his stats one sees a trend that suggests that the player will finish in the mentioned line-up as he had eight Top 10 finishes, twelve Top 25 and two Top 3 finishes.
His driving stats show an accuracy of 66.43 percent on the PGA tour, which is more than the average players. Lastly, he finished fourth in this tournament last year, which took place at the George Country Club, a venue not much different from the current
venue.
Hence, if all the cards fall in their right places, Kuchar will be the name written in the top section of the leaderboard.
