RBC Canadian Open: Betting odds – Part 2
3. Luke Donald
So what if he missed the cut at the Open Championship? One bad performance cannot define a player and his ability to finish in the Top 20. The Englishman is the reigning world number one and he was phenomenal at the Barclays Scottish Open.
Looking at his stats, the player is 36th on PGA Tour in fairways hit, 70th in Green Hits in Regulation and 17th in bogey avoidance.
He missed only two cuts out of eleven starts and attained three Top 2 finishes, including a win at the Accenture Match Play Championship and Barclays Scottish Open. Moreover, he has eight Top 10s and eight Top 25s, which is a good start for the season.
4. Charl Schwartzel
Schwartzel is the proud owner of the green jacket and since he managed to conquer the treacherous course of Augusta National, he should feel at home at the modern-styled Shaughnessy as well.
Moreover, the South African is carrying impressive driving stats that conjure an accuracy of 62 percent. Also, he is better than the average player on the PGA Tour is, when it comes to Green Hits in Regulation.
This is Schwartzel’s first visit to the course, which might serve as a disadvantage for him, but if he gets himself familiar with the course’s layout in the first round, then he will not face any problem thereafter.
5. Lucas Glover
The American is one of the most talented rising stars on the PGA circuit. He took everyone by surprise, when he won the Wells Fargo Championship at the start of the season. Not just that, but he also stunned the crowd in the Open Championship when he kicked
off with a 66. The player, like majority of the Americans, faced trouble in putting, but rest of his game was superb.
Glover finished in the Top 12, which is a big achievement for a player who is fairly new on the link-styled courses. Since Shaughnessy is said to face strong winds throughout the week, it won’t be difficult for Glover to adapt to the conditions here.
Glover missed six cuts out of 15 starts. However, if he makes it into the weekend with a reasonable score, he has the chance to climb to the Top 5 on the leader board.
