RBC Canadian Open: Betting odds – Part 3

6. Carl Pettersson
Petterson won the tournament last year, when it took place at the George Golf Club. The chubby looking golfer is well suited with the requirements of the course that test the driving stats and scrambling on the windy greens.
The player is aiming to put a strong defence at the tournament. Prior coming to the course, Pettersson said, “It's nice to be back as the defending champion. It's a little different since it's not the same golf course, but anytime you've won a tournament
and come back, you always get a good vibe. It's nice to come back and see your picture here and there, and it always brings back good memories of what you did last year.”
7. Jim Furyk
Furyk is the only player in the field, who has twice won the tournament in the past. The veteran shot maker knows where to strike the ball, when it comes to the Canadian courses. That is the reason behind his back-to-back wins in 1997 and 1998.
The FedEx Cup winner is in a sloppy mood since the start of the season, which is why he missed seven cuts and only twice made it into the Top 10. However, coming back to the course where he twice embarked his name on the trophy will be encouraging for the
veteran, and will speed up the process of him getting back into his groove.
Looking at his stats, one sees an accuracy of 66 percent in driving, which means that Furyk won’t face trouble in countering off the long pars of the Canadian course.
However, the player would want to work on his short game ahead of the tournament to add that much needed balance into his game.
8. Anthony Kim
By now, we know that PGA has been following a strange trend this year; an unknown name steps in the tournament, makes a few good shots and takes the trophy. Take the example of Jonathan Byrd, Mark Wilson, Jhonattan Vegas, Johnson Wagner, Brendan Steele and
Lucas Glover; all of them are first timers, when it comes to winning on the circuit.
That is one stat that might interest Anthony Kim. It wouldn’t be an entirely wise decision not to bet on him since he has had a decent run in his showings so far. He hasn’t one a title yet, but that’s the extra motivation Kim would be relying on to push
hard for his first ever title on the PGA Tour.
