RBC Heritage: Bob Estes makes a hole-in-one in the second round
Bob Estes is playing well at the RBC Heritage. He made a hole-in-one shot at the par-three 4th hole, in the second round of the event.
The 46-year-old American professional golf player displayed an amazing performance on Friday, finishing tied for the 7th position after two rounds at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
He started the tournament on Thursday by making a bogey on the very first hole of the tournament. Then he successfully recorded two birdies.
Estes made his first double-bogey on the 8th and ended the front nine holes of the course by scoring a birdie on the 9th. He played an average game and finished the first round at par.
He was inconsistent throughout the day and failed to score consistently till the end. His birdies were impressive, however, the bogeys took him down.
On Friday, he made a quick start by making an early birdie, on the very first hole of the round. Then made a bogey on the third hole and levelled the scores again.
On the fourth hole, he changed the entire scenario by scoring a hole-in-one shot. He judged the winds speed and the greens of the hole yesterday and was successful to putt in just one stroke.
His stroke landed right next to the hole, on the greens. The ball was moving at a faster speed and reached near the flagged hole.
All the spectators started shouting and then there was a huge round of applause, when the ball touched the flag.
This was the most appealing stroke of the day and no other golfer was able to make a hole-in-one shot in the second round. He further scored four birdies and reached among the top-10 golfers on the leaderboard.
He ended the round by making two bogeys and achieved a 4-under par score. He gave a tough time to other field members and finished tied for the 7th position, with four other professionals.
Colt Knost scored a 9-under 133 and is the current leader after two rounds. Estes is five strokes behind him and if he continues to score well on Saturday, he can be on the top of the leaderboard.
