RBC Heritage: Carl Pettersson seeks to win, as he stands at the 2nd position

Four-time PGA Tour winner, Carl Pettersson is giving his best at the RBC Heritage, bridging the gap between him and another PGA title.
Two rounds have finished, with several players seeking to prove their worth at the Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Pettersson displayed an amazing performance, as he scored an overall 7-under 135.
He is competing well for the title and seeks to win this week. His performance on Friday was the best when compared with the other field members.
The 34-year-old Swedish professional golf player putted three consecutive birdies early in the morning on Friday, during the second round.
He made six consecutive pars and impressively scored two more birdies on the 11th and 12th hole.
He was unable to score well only on the 15th hole, as he carded a bogey. He recovered from the bad spell and ended the round by making two consecutive birdies on the 17th and 18th.
“I love this golf course,” Pettersson said after making such impressive scores. “It’s probably my favorite one of the year”.
He shot a 6-under 65 yesterday and reached the runner-up position on the leaderboard. He is two strokes behind the leader, as he posted inconsistent scores in the first round of the RBC Heritage.
On Thursday, he made five birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey as well. He scored a 1-under par in the first round and that became the reason for his second position on the leaderboard.
Pettersson is not upset about his position. He is confident and shared that there are still two rounds left, in which he can win the glory of the RBC Heritage, by delivering his best.
“There’s two days of golf left,” Pettersson said. “You don’t think about winning even if you’re winning right now. It sounds boring but you just have to go out and do your own thing”.
Colt Knost is the current leader of the tournament. He is ready to restrict Pettersson in the upcoming two rounds.
“I felt like I was ready for this level and, apparently, I wasn’t,” Knost said of his career trajectory. “I don’t know if I just didn’t continue with the same work ethic or I didn’t have the same belief, but it was a struggle for a few years out here. But
now I feel like I’m getting my game back to where I want it”.
If Pettersson delivers what he has planned, he can win the fifth PGA Tour title this week and can earn the $1,026,000 winning prize.
