RBR driver Webber believes Newey will deliver more developments to their 2012 car – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber believes the team’s car engineer Adrian Newey will deliver more developments and changes to their 2012 car.
Webber said that Red Bull Racing team knows that Newey is still capable of designing good cars in line with the small regulation changes before the start of 2012.
He added that the strong teams, including Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes GP are all confident for their strong start to the 2012 Formula 1 season with their respective updated cars.
Webber commented, “If you look at any of the guys who have wrapped championships up, it was quite unusual what happened this year, purely because of the form he's had. And he's put together a great campaign and still is.”
He went on to mention, “I've had one non-finish, scored quite a few points and still done okay. Even though Seb has won a lot of races, they've been tight races and that's the way it's been. Whether you say, 'I'd like to be fifth in the constructors' with
three DNFs and two wins or... It's like saying how do you skin a cat?'”
Apart from that, he discussed the 2011 Formula 1 season and stated that there are still some good races to come his way, and that he is looking forward to ending the 2011 championship battle with some good races.
He talked about the 2011 Japanese Grand Prix and mentioned that he was pretty happy with Suzuka race results. In addition, he said that he could not have done much more for the team at the Japanese racetrack, but finishing the race at the fourth place was
positive for him.
The 35-year-old driver started his Grand Prix from the sixth position at the Suzuka racetrack and after using the medium and soft tyres by Pirelli, he ended up in the fourth spot for the team.
Let’s see how he performs in the 2011 Korean Grand Prix taking place on Sunday, October 16 at the Korea International Circuit.
