RBR’s Mark Webber: I am disappointed not to get second position in 2011 Korean GP – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has said that he is disappointed by not getting a second position in the 2011 Korean Grand Prix, held on Sunday, October 16 at the Korea International Circuit.
Webber added that the team did a good job until the first stop of the race and then got themselves in a good position in the end.
The Australian driver talked to the media and stated that after getting the Korean race results, he is looking forward to the next race weekend of the 2011 Formula 1 season, which will take place in India.
Webber commented, “The safety car got everyone back together and in the second stop we did the worst thing as we didn't stop before or after, we stopped at the same time. I had a good battle on the first lap and that was how it was today.”
The 35-year-old driver went on to mention, “I think pulling off a clean perfect weekend,” he said of his goals for the remaining races. “There are lots of positives for me today. We know how sensitive it is around, you need everything right to win. So a
lot of positives today for me but the initial reaction is a bit of disappointment.”
The RBR driver further added that at the moment he is disappointed by not getting a second position in the Korean Grand Prix, but he is sure he will be happy tomorrow when he wakes up and looks forward to the next event of the ongoing season.
Webber did not have a positive start to the Korean race weekend, as he failed to deliver his best possible performance on the grid in the first two Practice sessions. He improved in the final Practice session of the Korean GP and finished his run at the
third position as well.
After the third Practice session, the team driver managed to secure a fourth position for Sunday’s race. After starting from the fourth place on the opening grid, he ended up on the last stair of the podium in Korea after running in his RB7 car.
Let’s see how Webber performs in the next events of the season following his third position in the Korean race.
