RBR’s Mark Webber tops FP1 of 2011 Brazil Grand Prix in Interlagos – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber topped the Friday Practice session 1 of the 2011 Brazil Grand Prix in Interlagos on November 25.
All the teams took part in FP1 of the last round of the 2011 Formula 1 season in Brazil. In FP1, the drivers run on the sets of medium and soft tyres by Pirelli, the same they used in the previous Abu Dhabi race.
Red Bull Racing team driver, Webber took a very strong start to the last race weekend of the ongoing season. The Australian set the fastest time of 1 minute and 13.811 seconds in the first practice session and put his team on the top in the end.
He was closely followed by McLaren’s Jenson Button, who ended the first practice session with a gap of 0.014 seconds behind Webber after running at Interlagos on Friday.
Button’s teammate, Lewis Hamilton came at the third place with a gap of 0.150 seconds in the final FP1 classifications.
The 2011 world champion Sebastian Vettel could not finish the FP1 of the Brazil GP in the top three positions, as his rivals were faster as compared to him.
The German was 0.214 seconds off the pace of Webber and after running in his RB7 car, he ended up in the fourth spot.
Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso claimed fifth and sixth positions respectively for Ferrari at the end of the first practice session.
Mercedes GP driver, Michael Schumacher was competitive in FP1. He tried his best to finish the practice session in the decent manner. After using the sets of medium and soft compounds, he finished the session at the seventh position for the team.
Force India test driver Nico Hulkenberg impressed the FP1 of the 2011 Brazilian race weekend by taking eighth position for the team.
Force India race driver Paul di Resta put the team at the ninth position in the end of FP1.
Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg was unable to close the gap from his competitors. He completed the first practice session of the Brazil GP at the tenth position ahead of Toro Rosso’s Jaime Alguersuari, who ended up in the 11th place.
Let’s see whether Webber retains his position until the end of the race weekend or not.
