RC44 Team CEEREF tactician Michele Ivaldi pleased with overall form of crew at 2011 Adris RC44 Cup
Slovenia’s RC44 Team, CEEREF had an unconvincing 2011 Adris RC44 Cup at Rovinj but despite a low performance on the final day, they managed to occupy the third spot behind Team Aqua and Artemis Racing with 68 points. Team CEEREF tactician, Michele Ivaldi
is pleased with their third position finish.
Team CEEREF had one of the worst days in the regatta when they set sail in the first race of last day. They took a seventh and an eighth position in the last two races to finish third overall with 68 points. They had a tussling battle with Oracle Racing
on the final day but luckily they were able to pull themselves up at the end.
While speaking to local media, Ivaldi explained, “Today was a tough day for us, the pressure was on. We didn't have a good start in the first race and it was all uphill from there we made a good gain in the first run which put us back in place but then we
missed a shift on the second beat and we lost a couple of positions that put Artemis in front of us so we entered the last race of the day in third but we were all within one point so it was still an open game.”
He further added, “We tried to focus on sailing without looking around and from then on we managed to hold on to our third. It was a really good regatta for us the boys trimming the sail did a great job and we had good boat speed so I'm pleased we did well
overall.”
