RCA 42" tv with built in DVD player?

i've always heard that if a tv has a vcr/dvd player in it that it's a piece of c**p.....but what if you don't use the dvd player?

I can tell you I bought lots of rca products, like mp3 players , cd players

dvd and vcr's, and they all broke. I dont like that company.
