I have an RCA TV set CTC203 i have had for approximatly 4-5 years. It has the built in Guideplus. While a few nightd back, someone was showing me how to set my REMOTE CONTROL to control the DVD player and VCR, while hitting buttons the tv all of a sudden shut it selt off. I figured it was just one of the buttons on the remote he pressed by accident.
My kids were watching a DVD movie at the same time. And when the tv was shut off, we turned it back on again and all of a sudden there was NO COLOUR in the composite video input on the back. We tried to hook it up to the SVID input and STILL NO colour.
We use the composite input only cause we have the VCR and DVD player hooked throught a switch box that has only Composite video, as there is no other way to hook the VCR to the TV set.
We tried everything to get the colour back. Resetted the Remote , by removing the batterys and reinstalling them. We unplugged the tv set over night , heck even a couple nights. and nothing. It is hard to watch DVDS in black and white.
I read on another forum some where the other night that someone else who had the same tv also had the same problem but didnt mention how it happened. And then the following post he said he got it fixed but doent mention how. I was going to respond but the posts was dated 2003 and in an archive section so i couldnt respond to it.
Is there any way to fix this, like with the remote control?! as it seems like it was a accidental combination of the remote control buttons that generated this problem?! I cant afford a new tv set at this time. and my kids lover thier cartoons. :(
