RCA F31671SE Turns on nothing else.

Question

I picked up this T.V. with a broken off cable connection. Was told it still worked with S-Video. Tried it and all I got was a blank screen. I am carefully looking at the innards and thought I would ask if there is any thing in particular I should check before I take it to be fixed, toss it or maybe make it a learning fixit project. nothing into it so nothing to lose and only knowledge to gain.
