RCA RT2360 won't turn on. No sign of power at all. Blown fuse? Help!?

I have an RCA RT2360 surround sound system that won't turn on at all. The front LCD panel gives me no indications that any signs of life are there. The standby button, which is normally lit up red when the system is off, will not light up at all. Is this a blown fuse? I've tried plugging it in in various outlets and still nothing.

If it is a blown fuse, what's the best way of doing-it-myself? Is that a fairly simple home repair?

  1. If it's not a fuse, it's likely the power supply (inside) that's giving you trouble. If you understand how to diagnose a switch-mode power supply, and if you have the needed test equipment, you might solve it yourself. If not, it's a trip to the repair shop or the scrap heap.
