Question:

RCA Video and Audio Y-Adapters?

I am looking for RCA AV adapters. I need one that takes a video input and changes it to two outputs. Or could I buy a regular y-adapter and make it work backwards? I also need one that takes one video input and changes it to two outputs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Using short cable runs (6' or less) Y patches should not make a large difference. No it does not matter which direction you use them in.

That being said any adapter of any type will degrade the signal to some extant. Will this be visible or audible? Try it and see. Y cords are cheap enough.

  2. You need what is called a distribution amp.

passive Y adapters are not a good idea as signal impedance becomes inconsistent.
