RCA big screen glass repair??

Question

Can anyone tell me how I can repair the glas or plastic for our tv. Im just not sure where to take the old screen out and the new one in? Thank you!

Well, on SOME RCA's you remove the lower speaker grille to access some screws on the bottom frame, then pull the bottom out and lift the frame up to release it.....that's the wood-case units.....

Plastic units, you have to remove all the screws around the back of the frame, and the back of the plate JUST BELOW the frame to access the frame's bottom screws.....

And catch it before it falls on your head.....

(Who said our jobs are easy....I didn't)

Then you remove the screens making sure you NOTE the position of the Serial number tags.....

Put those in wrong and your picture never looks good.

Then re-assemble in reverse order......

Now, when you put the screens together, make sure you don't get dust/ hairs caught between the two screens....

Invariably, it will happen, so use sunlight or a blue screen on the TV to look thru it before completely re-assembling the TV set......microfiber towels seem to work best at removing the stuff.
