RCA want ban on Shane Warne for the last match
The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (BCCI) to impose a one-match ban on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper, Shane Warne, following his misbehaviour.
The Australian legend was involved in a public spat with the secretary of RCA, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sanjay-c88566 Dixit.
There has been no judgment on the matter until now, but if the ban is imposed on Warne then he would not be able to take part in the Indian Premiere League (IPL) anymore.
The Aussie announced his retirement from the sport at the end of the ongoing season and RR have only one match to go in the lucrative league. The team will be up against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians (MI) on Friday, May 20, 2011.
However, the RCA officials are not interested in giving a farewell game to the legendary spinner and stated, “We don't want anything to do with Warne anymore. This is his last game, and we are looking to start fresh next season with a new skipper for Royals.”
The tensions between RCA and Warne started after a match between the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and RR in the cash rich league. The spin wizard wanted the pitch to suit his team, as it was their home game.
However, the curators in Jaipur were advised to prepare a batting friendly wicket, which suited the visitors more than the home team. This infuriated Warne, as his team lost the match and their chances of qualifying for the play-offs grew slimmer.
The 41-year-old was unable to control his temperament and started abusing Dixit after the post-match presentation.
Dixit was unhappy with the misbehaviour of Warne and decided to lodge a complaint against him to the BCCI. He was pleased after the hearing though and stated, “The pitch issue was not part of the hearing. The context was regarding his (Warne) misbehaviour.
I am not at liberty to reveal what happened at the hearing. The panel heard all our views. The hearing was conducted in an impartial atmosphere.”
The entire situation didn’t please former Australian player, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837.
