RCB record impressive win over CSK, win by 8 wickets: IPL-4 News
CSK 128/8 20 overs, RCB 129/2 18 overs
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) recorded a much needed win over the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in an important clash of the Indian Premier League. The defending champions stuttered to a low total which was easily overhauled by the powerful
RCB batting in a match played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Batting first the CSK only got past the 120 runs mark due to a belligerent effort by their captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028. The Indian captain got struck with the RCB bowlers towards the end overs. He hit 70 runs off only 40 balls. His whirlwind effort was in sharp contrast
to the batting of his partners, who had looked clueless in good batting conditions.
Dhoni hit 6 towering sixes and 3 fours in his innings. He had little support from the other end which meant that he contributed more than half of his team’s runs.
W Saha, with 22 runs, was the only other batsman to help his captain. He was sent packing by Virat Kohli after a knock that included one four and one six.
For the RCB team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zaheer-Khan-c98451 and skipper Daniel Vettori were the main wicket takers. They took two each and kept the runs down with some probing bowling against a powerful batting line-up.
In reply the RCB once again were served brilliantly by their dashing opening batsman Chris Gayle, the former West Indian captain, who has been serving the RCB here as the Caribbean team battles with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in a Test series, smashed an unbeaten 75 off 50
balls. As always there were some big boundaries in his innings.
He hit as many as 6 sixes and 4 fours. He got good support from the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424 and Saurabh Tiwary who quietly scored 13 runs to lend support to the big hitting Jamaican. Kohli who has been one of the success stories for Challengers scored 31 runs
off 29 balls.
Morne Morkel took one wicket for 16 runs, however, it was once again Gayle’s night who pocketed another Man of the Match award.
