RCa and HDMI?

Question

Rca audio doesn't work when HDMI is present how should i fix this the HDMI is connected from my pc to Tv it is not HDMI to HDMI but it is DVI to HDMI and for audio i tried using 2.5mm head phone jack to RCA audio (red and white) but that only works when u take off the HDMI cable how can i fix this problem?

The speakers need to be connected to the computer.

HDMI cables transmit both audio and video. When you set your TV to the HDMI input, it will look for audio from only the HDMI source (unless there are some settings in your TV's menu to get around this). Since your computer will ouput only video from the DVI, you'll have to use your computer's speakers in order to hear sound.
