RE: Texas Laws pertaining to sexual child abuse

I know a LOSER who was accused of BAD BEHAVIOR re: sexual child abuse here in Mo last year. This individual was sched for jury trial in Mo a few weeks ago. Since then, trial was cancelled, and the Mo case was closed. In the Mo System, it still states Charges and says NOT DISPOSED. Since all of this, this criminal has fled to Texas. My big questions! Someone in Texas told me, that this individual is not finished. The state of Texas will NOT let these charges go because it is stated in Mo system. NOT DISPOSED, and this new texas resident will still be required to enter probation, and register with offenders. Can a Texas judge still enforce this? This individual is a HUGE risk factor who fell between Mo Judicial cracks. I just cannot see how Tx can step in if the individual was never convicted. Any answers???

Texas can in no way adjudicate the case of a crime that was committed entirely in another state. Only if there was a conviction in Texas or another state could Texas require s*x offender registration. It's all up to MO.

I'm assuming that the NOT DISPOSED means it was dismissed or MO will not pursue it to any kind of conclusion. If he was probated of deferred in MO, Texas will enforce registration statutes. States can and do ask other states to courtesy probations of their offenders who are allowed to move to the new state. But they still won't adjudicate any violations of probation but will just report them back to MO for adjudication.

Now, Texas can investigate if he's living with children. Not because he was criminally charged in MO, but because there was apparently a serious allegation in MO. It's not criminal investigation. It would be done by Texas CPS and would be focused on protecting any children in his home or allowed to be around him.

Sounds to me like the person accepted a plea bargain, and had his probation transferred to Texas.

The disposition listed on line may just take a while to be updated, they are probably waiting for confirmation from Texas.

This would seem unusual to me, unless he is facing charges in Texas also, and Missouri let him go to their custody.
