RE galileo thermometer?

i have a galileo thermometer are the colored temperature balls supposed to change colour as I have just noticed 2 of mine have gone clear? Why?

  1. perhaps the dye was bleached out by the sunlight


  2. That's odd. I've had one for over 10 years, and no color change. Maybe they are leaking??
