Okay so the doc. told me that my baby is not going to make it. So he gave me some pills to help make the miscarraige faster. I am 5-6 weeks pregnant he said. I havent started miscarrying yet. The pregnancy hormone in my blood is getting lower and lower. I am curious, should I miscarry naturally? Or should I take the pills? There are some side effects to those pills, they dont sound too good. If I take the pills I will miscarry for 1-2 days, I may or may not have a lot of cramping. PLEASE. NEED SOME OPINONS ON WHICH ONE I SHOULD DO?

The doctors did ultra sound and my sack where the baby is supposed to be has gotten smaller, and they could not see a developing fetus. I am kinda scared to miscarry and go thru the cramping. How long does it last and how bad does it hurt??

Oh yea...they already checked if it was an ectopic pregnancy. It's not. I talked to my doctor about and my mom, but I am still confused on which one to do?

  1. Whether you miscarry naturally or have an assisted miscarriage, you will cramp and bleed either way.  It's a personal choice whether to take the pills or not; however, if your doctor did give them to you then I would take them: they wouldn't have been prescribed if they were harmful or not a good idea.  If you decide to take the pills, then you will have more of an awareness of what's going on and not be taken by surprise if you miscarried without the pills.

As far as the cramping and bleeding is concerned: You will have, most likely, cramps that are stronger than what you're used to with your period.  This varies from woman to woman though.  Your bleeding will be something you haven't experienced before as well:  It will start off heavy, probably with some clots (up to the size of a lemon is normal, so don't panic) for the first couple days.  The bleeding will have less clots and become lighter.  This lasts anywhere from 9-16 days on average, though longer is not unheard of.

It's a difficult situation I know, I wish you luck.

  2. don't take the pills...! you don't want to think that you had a cause in your baby's miscarriage... thats a terrible thing to think :( do it naturally, it would be easier, and rest assured, you wouldn't have caused any of it. also, not to cause false hope, but my older cousin was in the same situation, where she was told her little boy wouldn't live, and was given miscarriage pills. She refused to take the pills, and her baby was born. although he lived only two weeks, the time she did have with him would never have been there if she had taken the pills. the time she had with him was everything she had wished for-- and she did NOT regret not taking the pills!

    good luck! :)
